I am pleased to share the annual 56^th Assembly District Writing Contest a merit-based scholarship opportunity that will assist students in refining their college application personal insight questions, a key part of the application processes. The submissions are open to ALL high school seniors (grade 12).

At the conclusion of the 56^th Assembly District College & Career Fair, October 17^th, Assemblymember Lisa Calderon will announce recipients of the $1,000 scholarships.

It is our pleasure to announce that the Office of Assemblymember Lisa Calderon is hosting the annual 56^th Assembly District College & Career Fair in partnership with Bassett High School and The Boys & Girls Club of the West San Gabriel Valley and Eastside. This annual event is set to return in person on Saturday, October 17^th.

This is a great opportunity for students and parents/guardians to attend and meet one-on-one with admissions representatives from over 60 colleges, universities, and career technical programs. As well as, attend live workshops in English and Spanish on Financial Aid, Community Colleges, CSU and UC Applications, and much more.
