(SACRAMENTO, CA) - Assemblymember Lisa Calderon (D-Whittier) released the following statement in response to Governor Gavin Newsom’s Proposed 2026-2027 State Budget:
“The Governor's proposed budget represents the beginning of the annual process to determine statewide spending priorities. While forecasted revenues are above expectations, we need to be mindful of previous experiences that created a significant gap between actual spending and revenues. While we endure the Trump Administration’s misguided attempts to undermine our economy, we must continue to support programs that educate our children, provide public safety, and protect the health and safety of California’s most vulnerable residents.”
